Complete Story

Julian was coming back home after a morning of shopping when he met his neighbor, Andi, in their apartment’s door.  “Good morning Andi, how are you?” Julian said to them. “Good morning Julian, I’m good. Sorry for asking, but can you come to my apartment later? If you’re free, of course.” They say.

“Um, yes, of course. But why?” Julian asks. “I’m kinda worried about Edward.” They explain. Julian nods and goes home. Julian finds his husband, Edward, laying on the couch while watching a volleyball match. “Hi Ed, are you better?” He asks. “Better, I guess. Did you bring me my chocolate?” Edward replies. Justin throws the candy to him and says. “Andi told me to go to their home. Are you okay being alone?” Edward nods and Julian kisses him before leaving.

Andi hear a knock on the door. “Glad you came, Julian! Come in.” They said, Julian sits down at a red chair and Andi give him a glass of water. “So, what did you want to talk about?” He asks. Andi sit on the chair in front of Julian and start. “Well, sorry for asking, but why is Edward so down these days? He wasn’t like that before.” Julian sighs and takes a huge sip of water before answering. “We went to visit his family, who aren’t very fond of our marriage, during Thanksgiving and they discovered I’m trans, and they kicked us out immediately. Since then, he’s been very down.” He puts the glass down on the coffee table in front of him.

“That’s horrible! But he told me that his family is indeed very nosy.” Andi looked down to their cup. “Yeah, I’ve already passed through this once, and it doesn’t get any easier.” Julian looked at Andi scratching their short blue hair. “I’m sorry for that. I wish I could do anything.” They said. Julian wanted to light the mood, so he threw a joke. “Besides giving him a new family?” The room was silent, but Andi got up. “Yes, actually. Stay still.” They ran and turned the corner and went back with a huge leather book. “What is that?” Julian asked, startled and squirmed himself into the chair. Andi had a grin in their face and opened the book, pointing to a chapter called ‘Transformations’. “This is an old spell book that’s been in my family for generations. And I think I could use a spell on him to try to cheer him up.” Andi said enthusiastically. Andi tilted his head. “And how do you know it works? Just because it’s old, doesn’t mean it contains real spells.” Julian said in disbelief. “Did you ever see me going to the salon to dye my hair?” They shot back.

Julian said a bit skeptical. “What do you have in mind?” “Well, I could use an age changing spell to turn him back into a toddler, so he could restart his life with a parent that won’t judge or kick him out for being gay or dating a trans person.” They said. “What? You can do that?” Julian asked. “Yes, I can. But I don’t think he’ll accept.” Andi responded. “No, he won’t. And he may be angrier if he discovers I’m into it.” Julian added.

Andi thought for a bit and said, “And what if you join him? I could even change something for you.” They said pointing to Julian’s baggy jeans. “I- I think I could. And I’d be very thankful for doing this, really. But I don't know if he’ll be happy with passing through puberty again. But he told me once that he wouldn’t care about being young forever, and he didn’t tell me how young.” Julian winked and Andi laughed. “Okay, so you’re okay with being a diapered toddler?” Julian just looked at them. “You didn’t tell me that detail, but I think I could work it out. Do you need to do anything?” “I just need to set up the spell in your apartment.” Julian got up. “Okay, then visit us at dinner!” Both shaked hands and Julian left.

Later that night, Andi appeared on the couple’s flat with a cake to cheer Edward up. Even though Edward seemed to be enjoying the night, he just got up out of the blue. “Sorry guys, but I need to go to bed. Good night, Andi. Don’t take too long to sleep, Ju.” He went straight to his bedroom. Thirty minutes later, Julian said. “You’ll set up the spell?” Andi nodded. “It’ll take a while to activate, but you can go to sleep without worries.” Andi sat on the carpeted living room floor and started to read the spell that they saved on their phone. A light flash appeared, but nothing happened. Andi left the apartment with a key so they could enter the next morning, and Julian went to his bedroom to go to sleep.

The next morning, Edward woke up, but he knew something was weird. His bed seemed bigger and the sheets way heavier than he remembered, and a weird cold was over his whole body. Then he dared look down and saw an exposed, infantile body. He was shocked, and he felt a weird warmth at the middle legs. He looked over the sheets and saw a crinkly diaper around his waist, and it was used. He finally realized what was going on, and he needed to warn Julian. He turned and saw a brunette toddler, apparently 3 years old, sleeping and also with his torso exposed.

He gulped and whispered. “Juwian?” He cringed at his lispy and high voice. The kid soon opened his eyes and looked at Edward. “Good mowning, Eddie!” He said with glee. Edward jumped back and said in shock. “Juwian, is dat you?” “Of course it me.” Julian answered. “B- but you’we a kid!” Edward said, panicking. “Yeah, now I see we both awe diwty, now wet’s-” Edward interrupted Julian. “Dah doow! Someone hewe! Wet’s hide!” He pulled Julian with him under the queen sized bed.

“Eddie, we gonna get a wash!” Julian complained. “Dat’s what you wowwied about!? We awe kids and someone just entewed ouw house!” Julian sighed. “Cawm down, wet us expwain.” “Us!? Who is awso a kid again?” He froze after hearing the bedroom’s door open. “Good morning, boys! It’s me, Andi.” The neighbor said as they entered. “Boys? I know you may be shocked, but let’s talk.” Edward was shaking with fear, and then he noticed Andi’s feet approaching the bed. “Found you!” Andi said to the boys under the bed. Edward got scared and hit his head on the bed, making him cry.

Andi picked Edward in their lap and tried to calm him down. While that, Julian crawled out the bed and sat on the bed. “Eddie, I can explain what happened.” Andi said. “What? You’we wesponsible fow it?” Andi nodded and put him on the bed. “Look, Julian said what happened between you and your family, so we talked and agreed that this was the best solution.” “What? You’we into this?” Eddie shouted to Julian, who just nodded in response.

Edward looked at his feet. “So, we’ww gwow back up? I don’t want to wive pubewty again.” “No, you’ll be like this forever. But Julian just followed the flow, even though we agreed on making a test week, that’s okay Eddie?” Andi asked. “Pwease, deaw, just one week, we can gwow back up if you don’t wike it.” Julian pleaded. Edward thought for a bit. “Otay, I wiww.” Andi and Julian cheered. “Andi, now can you tange us now?” Julian asked. “Of course, Ju.” They picked both and took off their diapers, and Edward turned to his husband. “Wow! Ju, you did it?” He pointed to his partner nub. Julian blushed. “Yeah, now I’m a fuww on boy.” He cheered and Andi approached with some new diapers and changed them. “Andi, I’m hungee.” Edward pleaded with his brown puppy eyes.

Andi took the boys to the dining room, where they were strapped in high chairs and they served both a bowl of Corn Flakes and a sippy cup full of chocolate milk. “Fanks, Andi!” Julian said and started to dig in. On the other half, Edward was stranging his dino themed seat and star filled bottle. “What’s wrong dear?” Andi approached Eddie. “Dis feew wong? Dis is fow babies!” Andi hid their laugh. “I know, but why don’t you give it a try?” Andi took his cup and put on Edward’s mouth. The kid started to drink and started to get more comfortable. “How do you feel?” Andi asked. “Good, fank you Andi.”

On the next chair, Julian was drinking his jungle themed sippy cup while jumping on his padded button in his puppy high chair. “What awe you happy bout?” Ed asked. “You wook so cute when you act wike as a baby and I couwdn’t howd myself.” Julian answered and Edward blushed. “Stop!” Andi giggled. “You look like a couple even though you’re kids.” Both blushed and the blond tot said. “I fink we need a bit mowe time untie we see each odah as bwos, wight Ju?” The green eyed toddler looked at his feet. “I fink we can act as a coupwe when we awone.”

They finish eating and Andi puts them on the couch. “Now it’s TV time.” Andi turns the TV  on in a Sesame Street marathon. Julian started to watch as a normal kid would, but Edward, on the other hand, was very uncomfortable. Noticing that, Andi approached the tot. “Ed, what’s wrong?” “Dis show is dumb! I know we kids, but stiww.” Eddie said and Andi understood. “Please, do this for Ju, he’s looking so excited right now. Later we’ll go shopping anyway.” Edward nodded and focused back on the colorful show.

Some time later, both boys yawned. “Oh my, I think you’re overdue for a nap.” Edward was going to say something, when Julian cut him. “No naps!” “Please Ju, if you don’t sleep, you’ll not have energy for the mall later.” Julian’s eyes lit up after hearing that information and he jumped on Andi’s lap and Edward was picked up, then they laid the boys on the bed. One hour later, Edward woke up in Andi's arms. “Andi? What is dis?” He asked groggy. “It’s mall time, Julian is still asleep, but he’ll be awake when we’re there.” They said while strapping them into their car seats. “Andi, my diaper feews weiwd.” “I know Ed, but we don’t have time now, I’ll change you when we get there.” They started the car and drove off.

Minutes later, Julian woke up in the mall, and he noticed that Andi rented a stroller for two kids. “Hi sweetie, you slept well?” Andi asked after noticing that the kid woke up. “Yes Andi, what we do now?” “It’s lunch time, so we’ll go to McDonald’s before we go shopping.” Julian smiled. “I want a toy!” He cheered. “Okay, you’ll get one.” Edward was very quiet until that moment. “Ju, you’we not a kid, so why do you want a toy?” He said angrily. Julian sighed. “Ed, I have to say dat I was weawwy sad as a gown up, and I’m weawwy fond of my new status and I weawwy wished you couwd see it.” He said and started to talk to Andi as a kid would with his babysitter.

During their lunch, Edward insisted on not getting a Happy Meal, contrary to Julian, who happily played with his Mario toy and was always reminded by Andi to eat, and happily let them clean his face. Some minutes later, he jumped on their lap. “Fank you fow dis, Andi.” He hugged them with all his baby strength and Andi hugged him back. “You’re welcome bud.” Edward thanked them too from his chair and they replied with a warmthful smile.

After lunch, Andi guided the tots to a giant toy store. “Here you go boys! Choose any.” Julian’s eyes lit up and he started to run through the store grabbing lots of different toys directed at their age, blocks, cars, Duplo, action figures and especially plushies. The kid’s eyes were hypnotized by a blue dinosaur plush smiling at him. “Andi, can you gwab dis one fow me?” He pointed to the out of reach toy. “Sure dear, you want one too, Eddie? Only Ju picked until now.” Edward blushed. “What? Do I have to?” Andi nodded and he started looking around and he stopped after seeing a black penguin plushie and Andi noticed it. “Looks like you found your special one.” He just nodded and holded the toy. “Dis wemebah me dah pwushie I  had when I was a kid.” He hugged it and the sense of calm and protection took him over. Andi paid for the things and they put the kids in their stroller and started shopping for baby supplies, where they started to yawn and sleep on the spot.

Edward woke up hours later back in their apartment, but in a very different place. That was when he discovered he was in a crib in a nursery and he heard the door opening and Andi entered with Julian in their arms. “Hey Eddie, you’re awake? I just changed Ju here and I  think you need it too.” Edward noticed how his protection was feeling weird and he nodded, letting himself be picked up by their caretaker. During his change, he saw Julian playing with his blocks. “Andi, I’m sowwy fow not acting how I shouwd on dah maww.” He said. “Why? You didn’t make any fuss, you’re just adapting differently than Julian.” They explained. “Exactwy, he’s so happy fow being a kid again, and I weawwy wished I couwd be wike him.” Andi looked emotionally at him and picked Ed in their arms. “Don’t worry, we’ll be here to help you.” That got him and he started to cry.

After the tears, Andi gave Ed his penguin. “I think this can help you.” They said. “How?” Ed asked, confused. “I like to think that plushies are a baby’s best friend, and a friend needs a name right?” Andi explained. “I guess so, what do you fink of Doug?” He said blushing. “Sounds perfect! I think Doug and Ness will be great friends.” They said. “Ness?” “Yeah, Ju’s dino, why don’t you introduce him to Ness?” They said, trying to cheer Ed up. “You wiww be wif me?” He asked putting the penguin in front. “Of course, he’s your husband.” “NO! He isn’t!” Andi got shocked and Julian also heard him, making him start to run and cry. “Edward, what was that?” They asked. “Sowwy, I meant odah fing.” He tried to justify himself. “So what did you mean?” “I twied to say he was my bwodah.” He said embarrassed and Andi gasped. “Well, you need to go after him  then, so you can explain that to him.” Edward agreed and he went after Ju.

After some time, he found the kid under the kitchen’s counter. “Ju, awe you hewe?” Edward said. “Go away!” Julian shouted in the middle of his tears. Edward took a deep breath and started to talk. “I’m sowwy, I didn't mean dat-” “Then what was it?” Julian cut him off furiously.  “I free diffewent fow you now, I can’t see mysewf as youw husband, actuawwy, I see you as my…” He gulped “...my bwodah.” He said and Julian turned his head. “Weawwy? Dat means you want to stay wike dis?” He nodded and Julian hugged him. “Fank you Eddie! You don’t know how much this means to me!” Andi heard that from afar and just looked at them with a smile on their face.

Later that evening, they agreed on watching a movie, and Eddie was on Andi’s lap while they popped popcorn. “Eddie, you want butter on it.” He nodded and he took a drink from his apple juice. They went back to the living room, where Julian, like Eddies, was already in his pajamas and sucking the pacifier clipped on it. “Now, you want to watch Frozen or Beauty and the Beast?” They asked. “Beauty and the Beast!” Both answered happily. After the movie started, both the kids started to snuggle on the young adult’s body, where they were compensated with petting in their hairs. After the movie ended, Eddie turned his head and saw that Julian was already asleep and he yawned. Andi picked both up. “I think it’s sleep time for both of my babies.” They tucked Julian in his crib and then he went to Edward, who started to talk. “Fank you, Andi. If it wasn’t fow you, me and Ju wouwdn’t be so happy.” “You’re welcome dear, I’m happy too.” They kissed his forehead. “Good night, Eddie.” “Good night to you too, Andi.” The caretaker left and closed the nursery’s door, where both kids snuggled happily with their plushies and dreamed of the life that was about to start.
